Why Lavenderuses?

An Overview of Lavenderuses:

Are you asking why lavenderuses? Such a small niche! And writing about one single flower. Wouldn’t this prove challenging?

lavenderuses home page 200x300 Why Lavenderuses? At the time I didn’t take that into consideration. It was suggested by those who knew more about blogging and building a business than I do; to choose something I was passionate about.

Where My Love for Lavender Began:

Well, that was easy. My love for lavender had started as a small child when I would visit my Grandmother. She always had a bottle of lavender water that I was allowed to spray on myself when I stayed over with her during the school holidays.

And then there were the beautiful lavender bushes. They grow so easily here in our sandy soil. Coupled with very hot dry summers; they seem to thrive. I loved pressing a flower between my fingers and then enjoying the perfume that emanated from those lavender plants.

Growing Lavenders:

Many years later; whilst visiting Norfolk lavender farm more of an interest was sparked to begin researching all the many types of lavenders I saw growing there.

So I figured that even in a cooler climate I could attempt to grow some and it worked. Blue, pink and white lavenders were proudly shown off to my friends when they visited. I built a rockery just for the lovely lavenders I had purchased.

These lavender plants blossomed and thrived with tender loving care in a climate so removed from the one I was familiar with. And they made such a spectacular display in my garden.

Researching Lavender Products:

Then I began researching and found to my amazement that not only does this amazing aromatic herb have the most beautiful perfume. It also has many uses.

Digging deeper I also found that a lot of clinical trials had been done. Coming from a nursing background and being involved in research; this peeked my curiosity.

The medical profession were starting to take natural remedies seriously. And the results were encouraging.

Then there is Culinary Lavender:

More surprises were to follow. Being a member of the mint family; organic English lavender could also be used in cooking. This was getting very interesting.

So from humble beginnings, this small niche blog came about. Having a love for lavender; I began to research and write about the many uses of the lovely lavender.

As you scroll through the categories to the left of this page; there are many interesting articles for you to read.

Organic Lavender Oil too:

There are also many lavender lovers out there who have added to the experience here. A community of people who are also enjoying growing lavenders, cooking with lavender and searching for organic lavender oil that can be used for many conditions.

Why lavenderuses … I simply ask, why not?
