Lavenders Many Uses
Using lavender for lavender crafts is just another of its many uses. I would like to explore some of the crafts that this plant gives rise to.
This is not an exhaustive list and will be added to; so here goes with a few lavender craft ideas.
Lavender Sachets

There are of course the popular lavender sachets that can be made with dried lavender flowers and muslin or even a lace hanky. Tie with a pretty ribbon. These are simple to make and a delightful gift.
The one photographed was made by my Mother many years ago and she was surprised when I told her it was still in my lingerie drawer smelling as sweet as when she gave it to me.
Lavender and Potpourri
Add lavender dried flowers and leaves to a potpourri mix and place in a glass or crystal bowl to add glamour as well as a delightful perfume to any room. Lavender oil is acceptable also. It’s up to you.
Lavender Wands
These have been popular over the years. They can be placed between linen in a drawer to have your clothing smell sweet scented and should last for years. Interesting to note that they were used as an insect repellent in past times.
I notice there are different methods used to make these but they all look delightful.
I have asked for the instructions for making lavender wands from a lavender grower I have met online since starting up this blog. I hope to have it up on this site soon.
Lavender Wreaths
Using lavender to make the wreath; it would make a lovely gift or just enjoy yourself.
And lavender wreaths can be hung on the front door in the festive season as an alternative to the flowers normally used.
Lavender Balls
Another lovely use for lavender. Can be given as a gift or placed in a linen cupboard or lingerie drawer. This should not only keep garments smelling sweet. It can also acts as an insect repellant.
More Lavender Crafts Coming
I hope to add other lavender craft items and how you can make or purchase them at a later date. However, I am not a craft person in any shape or form.
Though both my parents were incredibly talented in both art and design; this didn’t flow down to me! So I will be sourcing my information and instructions from those I know who are gifted in this way.
There are many who have made their own lavender candles, lavender soaps and have many brilliant ideas for lavender crafts.
I will be looking to them to add valuable information to this section of lavenderuses.com Enjoy your lavenders, I sure do.

Lavender sachets are soo nice. I use to have one in my drawer too.
Hi Rose
My Mum was surprised when I said I still had the one in the photograph. It stills gives out the same beautiful perfume as when she made it for me. She was so surprised when I told her that. Then I got my niece to do the photo for this post. A real family affair

That really is wonderful that you still have it.
I love my lavender sachet Mum made. She makes all sorts of lovely craft products. Sadly I don’t take after her. Didn’t get those creative genes.

Hey Patricia, I see that your family is very gifted. Even the younger generation got in on the act this time. I’d love to have one of these tucked under my pillow at night. Thanks for the crafting tips.
Hi Ileane
Nice to see you over here. My Mum made this so many years ago and I still have it in my top drawer. She was most surprised that it still had its lovely lavender perfume as it is about 20 years old!
Amongst my new products there is a lovely lavender sachet similar to this one. Should be up on my site in 2 weeks as the web designer visited yesterday and will be setting it up for me. Thanks for taking the time to comment and I really appreciate all your support Ileane.
