Is This Lavender Pill Hard to Swallow
A lavender pill for anxiety did seem to be either a breakthrough or almost unbelievable. Undeterred I searched for all the medical data I could find so that I could share it with my readers and the response has been encouraging.
Can we really hope that at last there is a natural treatment that treats such a debilitating condition? A lavender pill?!
Medical Trial for Severe Anxiety
Several months ago I read a very encouraging report about a medical trial…a lavender pill for anxiety.
Lavender oil in the form of lavender capsules in the treatment of severe anxiety was trialled.
This should bring hope to those suffering with this condition. Up until recently, the only treatments being offered often had severe side-effects and were not always effective.
Natural Therapies Welcome
Any natural therapies that can assist with debilitating illness should be welcomed. Not only will there be less side effects.
There will also be a welcome relief from those who have battled with their condition, often for years with little if any hope of any form of relief.
Traditional Treatments & Side-Effects
Until natural therapies are trialled and the results published and approved, then for this condition the benzodiazepine therapies prescribed, seems to be the choice of treatment for this condition.
With these forms of medication there are side-effects and they are known to have a sedative affect. It has also been noted they can also be used in drug abuse.
Now to the studies carried out
This study was carried out in Austria by the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Medical University of Vienna, Austria.
Those involved in the clinical trials were patients with a condition known as sub-threshold generalised anxiety disorder (GAD).
This means the patients displayed persistent and generalised anxiety. Also associated nervousness was present.
Lavender Capsules in Clinical Trials
The research involved patients taking a lavender oil capsule called “Silexan”. This lavender product was trialled in 3 double-blind randomised clinical trials.
The trials were carried out over a 10 week period. With 280 people trialing the lavender capsule; this appeared to be a reasonable time frame. With an adequate number of participating patients, this was set to make for a good study.
What it Involved
The 3 trials were carried out as follows:
- Silexan (lavender capsule) v placebo over 10 week period. Patients participating were diagnosed with a specific anxiety disorder
- Silexan v lorazepam over 6 week period. Patients participating were diagnosed with GAD
- Silexan v placebo over 10 week period. Patients participating were diagnosed with restlessness and agitation.
280 people took Silexan (lavender capsule) 80mg daily, 37 took Lorazepam and 192 took the placebo.
Both males and females took part in the trial. Ages were from 18-65 years.
There were other tests done measuring anxiety and sleep levels on each participant and in each of the studies.
Those who took the lavender capsules had results that equalled or bettered those who were given their usual medication.
Encouraging Results for Lavender Treatment
It showed that these lavender capsules were as effective as lorazepam; minus the side-effects. The patients also slept better and for longer.
Their general physical and mental health improved also. Good news indeed. And no danger of drug abuse with the lavender either. The news just keeps getting better.
Welcome News
For those who suffer with these debilitating conditions that not only affect them but also their families; I am sure this is welcome news.
I await the next published results for these products and when/if they will become available.
Stringent Protocols
Strict guidelines and approvable by ethics committees, along with accurate records and independent assessments are usually undertaken, before products do become available. This cautious approach may seem long and tedious.
However, I applaud the trials being done under stringent conditions. This means that when products become available there will be more assurances of safe practice.
I’m sure medical professionals will be watching closely for the next round of results with hopefully more good news of a lavender pill for anxiety. I know I am.

I am constantly amazed at all the varied and various things that lavender can do.
I guess I should be used to it by now and wouldn’t be surprised if people who take lavender spontaneously regrow limbs like frogs.
Lavender really is amazing.
Hi Steve
It is an amazing aromatic herb eh??!!
And when I find these clinical trials that are happening I am so happy that the medical profession is finally recognising these natural products that can be used in so many ways.
Now the results are speaking for themselves and hopefully they will take this study forward. A lot of the pharmacopiaprescribed have such nasty side-effects and if natural products like the lovely lavender can be used, all the better
Thanks for stopping by Steve; especially with your busy schedule. And thanks for continuing to share such helpful and informative posts too.

My family is doing great. Really appreciate you asking.
Other things are going better than I ever expected Pat. I have already landed 3 clients to help kick start their online endeavors. 2 of them were actually referred by my client I worked with couple of years ago. One of them through my blog itself, so it is very promising (O:
I still have long ways to go but it is very motivating to know that whatever I am doing, I am doing it right.
Talk to you later!
Hi Adam
That’s great news. Glad the family are doing well and that you are growing your client base
Personal recommendation from a satisfied client is the best advertisement you can get. Means they must have been happy with your work.
And definitely you must be doing it right. Way to go Adam. Keep it up and hey you may be working for yourself full-time some time soon

Patricia,
This is fantastic information! Lavender and its many uses just continues to get better and better. What an amazing natural alternative for those suffering with anxiety. I hope it gets the go ahead, that would be so wonderful for so many people. Will you post more about this pill and its uses if/when it is approved? As always I love visiting your site.
Hi Victoria
Welcome to my small niche lavender blog. This is a real breakthrough and I will be keeping a watch out to see what progress is made and yes I will keep my readers posted on any reports I read that come out.
As I explained in the post, these things do take time and that is not a negative thing; as they must make sure with all clinical trials that they are carried out with strict guidelines and all applications for approvals are thoroughly examined to ensure safe practice.
Thanks for stopping by and joining the conversation Victoria. All the best for your site too.

She’s the best, isn’t she?
Thanks for the vote of confidence Bill
It’s great to see you popping up here regularly and becoming part of the conversation.

Hi Patricia:
Patricia, with your focus to the Uses of Lavender, it got a new life, now lavender is being tested for treatment. Wonderful idea, and Patricia since you are the bearer of the good news, you have to be the one to sell most of these new inventions, as a pioneer of this stuff.
Best of Luck. Just keep your focus for it to happen.
I also like the title of the post. Wonderful twist to make it catchy and that is what Google wants to see.
Your traffic is already at a perfect point.
Talk again

Hi Fran
Thanks for stopping by. I found this clinical trial one that I wanted to share; as it is a major breakthrough for both natural health products and also a condition that can be so debilitating.
I was pleased with the headline too
Have to be creative to get noticed eh??!! And I’m trying to mix it up with some lavender topics and some Patricia’s Ponderings.
Hope all’s going well with your business ventures too Fran. And don’t forget to let me know when you have got skype sorted so we can have a catchup
Patricia Perth Australia
Google, smoogle, she’s a magnet in her own right.
LOL too funny Bill
Fran always has something encouraging to say about my posts. And she often has some great suggestions for me in regard to marketing my lovely lavender products.
I am just so blessed by the people I have connected with in the blogosphere. So helpful and taught and still teaching me so much.

Oh Patricia the hubby suffers from anxiety. Oh my gosh it is so hard to live with someone who has true anxiety. A common result of anxiety is high blood pressure, which he also has. Plus they tend to be obsessive worriers. The doctor says the only real cure for this type of anxiety is a DNA transplant! He was on lorazepam for some time but it didn’t work for him.
He doesn’t ever object to herbal remedies when I suggest them. I would love to know when these are available. I know he would try them and perhaps they would eliminate some of his meds.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful news.
Have a wonderful week!
Hi Kathy
Sorry to hear your husband suffers with this condition. Must be hard for you to see what he goes through too.
I have a lavender oil infuser my niece bought me and lots of lavender products round my house
Lavender is in most rooms and I enjoy it’s aroma too.
Whenever anyone visits they always comment on the beautiful perfume pervading the rooms in my home. And how peaceful it is here.
Lavender does have relaxing properties so I wasn’t too surprised by the good results from these studies. Here’s hoping they will be able to start having these available to anxiety sufferers soon. Will keep you all posted with any news I read.
Patricia Perth Australia
Hi Patricia,
Long ago humans first started using natural remedies. There were no drugs. Then as time went on drugs came into the picture.
Today when people get sick, mostly no one thinks about a natural remedy they can take to help them. We are all conditioned to first think, what drug can I take?
I sometimes wonder why is it this way? The answer I am lead to believe is there is more money to be made with drugs. Natural remedies take a second seat. Drugs are man made, Natural remedies come from the Earth.
Drugs are in today. I’d like to think, try something that’s natural first and if that doesn’t help then take the appropriate drug.
Lavender is a fantastic natural substance all thanks to your teachings otherwise I would think it’s just a plant that smells good.
There should be more awareness made about natural remedies, today.
We all need more people like you Patricia that lets people realize the power and importance of natural
remedies.
Terry Conti
Hi Terry
Always good to see you here. Thanks for stopping by and staying to join the conversation.
When I was nursing we had pharmacology lectures and were taught all about pharmacopia. That’s all I knew for years!
Over the past few years I have looked to more natural therapies where possible. Less side-effects and they definitely smell sweeter
Now medical researchers are looking into the beneficial effects natural therapies can have which is great news.
There are quite a few clinical trials that I have been reading about that involve the lovely lavender. I shall continue to share these findings with my readers.
Great that you are now more informed about this amazing aromatic herb Terry.
Have a great weekend. Still very warm here even though it’s now autumn. We are hoping for some rain as the farmers sure need it!
Patricia Perth Australia
Patricia will make you smarter, trust me.
Don’t know about smarter Bill. Hopefuly more informed about this amazing aromatic herb. And if that happens, I’m happy
Patricia Perth Australia
Now that I am connected to you, lavender is certainly on the radar. I am amazed at how many beneficial uses there are and I was only thinking of the sweet smell in my grandmother’s house.
Not only do the pharmaceuticals have side effects; sometimes they are severe. If there is an natural alternative to treat the debilitating conditions it would be wonderful.
All things lavender, you really now your stuff. It’s funny now in conversation I roll something out about lavender and then drive them to your site as the expert. I can only talk about sports for so long, huh?
Patricia, you are a real treasure and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your support. Thank you very much.
I hope you have a great weekend (of course it’s probably already half over for you………:)
You are such a great networker Bill. And obviously enjoy interacting on my blog….sweet
The lovely lavender certainly continues to amaze me. I am still learning heaps and there are more natural health posts on the horizon.
It is encouraging to see the number of clinical trials being carried out on natural products and lavender seems to always come out smelling sweet.
When I was nursing I had to learn about pharmacology and being taught about side effects, contra-indications and precautions with the medication being prescribed, I’m surprised it took me so long to look into natural products as an alternative.
Although if my friends visited or asked if I had any headache pills or any other lotions or potions in my house, they were surprised when I told them I didn’t use any of them so didn’t have any on hand!
Now of course I have lavender wafting through my home and I use organic products as much as possible.
And thanks for your kind words Bill. Really appreciate them and also appreciate your support of my blog.
Friday night here so it’s almost the weekend. Hope yours goes well too.
Patricia Perth Australia
Just when I think you’ve exhausted all the possible uses of lavender I am proven wrong! lol.
This is very promising news. I wish these things didn’t take so long but I understand the need for testing.
I wonder what else we could do with lavender? Can it solve the oil crisis?? I don’t think I’d be surprised if it did
Hi John
While you were visiting my blog and commenting, I was over on Steve’s blog commenting on your Guest Post! Really enjoyed your post
Didn’t know you were here amongst the lovely lavenders. And yes, there are still more lavender posts in the pipeline; so a few more surprises
And who knows about the oil crisis…..I know here in Oz they are testing electric cars and other alternatives. So far the lovely lavender’s not been considered LOL
Thanks for stopping by and joining the conversation John. Appreciated.
Patricia Perth Australia
Hi Patricia,
Wow, this is amazing! Anything that is natural for healing and free from side effects is the best in my books.
I think I’ve always had some form of mild anxiety for my entire life, so this is very interesting to read about. I’m not on any medication nor have I been diagnosed with anything, but I’ve realized that I get very anxious in certain situations. I’d definitely try these lavender pills over harsher prescription pills any day.
I’m not a big fan of prescription drugs. I don’t deal well with pain so the risk of side effects always make me nervous.
This was such an interesting article and I’m all for natural remedies. Thanks so much for the informative blog post, Patricia!
Elise
Hi Elise
Lovely to see you back amongst the lovely lavenders. It will probably be some time when/if these lavender capsules become available.
But the good news is that lavender does have relaxing properties and organic lavender products like lavender soy candles, lavender essential oil, lavender bath oil & shower gel to name but a few; are all available now for general use
I have heaps of lavender products and as far as possible only buy organic products; especially if they are going to be applied to my skin!
If you have time, have a read of some of my other lavender health posts and learn about the other many uses related to health, that this amazing aromatic herb is used for.
And some of the articles include clinical trials that were done which brought interesting and surprising results
I’ll be writing some more of these posts as I find more clinical trials being carried out.
Have a great weekend Elise. Thanks for joining the conversation. Appreciated.
Patricia Perth Australia
Ahhh Elise, when are you going to roll out this new blog? FYI we have been missing you………..just sayin’……….
I agree Bill. Elise has been missed. I enjoy her writing style and being Ms Super Geek, always has something interesting to share with us
Now I realise that it’s because she is busy on a new project which like you, am interested to see when it’s up and running.

This is most encouraging that lavender is being scientifically tested now. And the fact that the studies were double-blind randomized clinical trials means that the information is solid.
A double blind study means that neither the researchers or the patients knew who was getting what until the end of the trial. So the results can’t be swung by prejudice.
Encouraging news.
Hi Dawn
How are you? Good to have you visiting and thanks for your input to the topic. I agree. Being a double-blind randomised clinical trials does give it validity.
Having been involved in clinical trials when I was nursing, I can say it is tons of work and the guidelines (I did mine in the UK) are stringent which is okay with me.
Means the results should be accurate and when the results are published then the readers can be assured of this fact.
Will be looking with interest to see if/when things move forward with this study. There must be many people suffering with severe anxiety who would welcome an alternative to some of the medication that appears to be their only option at the moment.
Have a great weekend Dawn and thanks for joining the conversation.
Patricia Perth Australia
I know if I had the choice between taking a natural product against a chemical one the natural one would always win. It’s great that those results show the lavender pill is working as well as the prescription drug. I’m sure that all those suffering from anxiety are anxiously waiting the results of farthing testing. I’m sure that the lavender will come through brilliantly.
Hi Sire
Me too. I use organic natural products as much as I can and of course I have many lavender products throughout my home
Some of the clinical trials with natural products are very encouraging and I will be writing some more posts as they become available. It’s great that the lovely lavender is getting the recognition it deserves.
And to think it has been used for thousands of years and only recently we have realised how many uses this amazing aromatic herb has
Thanks for stopping by Sire and joining the conversation. Appreciated.

Hey Patricia,
Great news on the budget allocation in Australia, we could really use something like that over in the UK.
Too often, if we see someone struggling with mental health problems, we think they’re just acting weird, or we may even become repulsed by what we see. It’s become the ‘norm’ to just walk away and pretend we never saw them.
Perhaps carrying some lavender products, such as lavender pills, would work in everyday life? If ever you, or anyone else, needed to relax, or relieve stress, then it’ll be ready to use, and the problem could be resolved before it became too much.
Great work Patricia, as always
Hi Stuart
Good to have you join the conversation. You are so right. Sometimes people’s attitudes to mental health is because of fear and/or ignorance.
As a trained nurse I can understand that. I am qualified to help but sometimes people just need a little understanding. And we are all qualified to give some of that eh.
The lavender products I sell have relaxing properties cos lavender of itself has that wonderful relaxation element to it. So in theory I should be relaxed all the time as their perfume pervades most rooms in my house
Will be watching with interest to see if/when more studies are done with these lavender capsules. At the moment I have not read of any more studies in the pipeline with this particular condition or natural treatment.
Appreciate your input to the conversation Stuart. Thanks.
Patricia Perth Australia
I very much prefer natural to products to some of that other stuff. FYI: This is just in time for mental health month and APAs “blog party for mental health!”
(which is tomorrow – I can’t seem to get the link to work right now though as I’m getting a ‘server down’ error – but it’s talked about on yourmindyourbody.org if you want more information about it)
~Cheers, Chris
Hi Chris
That’s interesting and I will go check it out thanks. Like you, I too try to use natural products as much as possible.
And also it’s important to also eat healthy as well. I did an article on healthy organic living awhile back. Interestingly, people who choose to use organic products for health usually are aware of nutrition too.
Thanks for stopping by Chris. Appreciated.

Patricia, I’m so excited to have met you through Diana Simon and to have discovered your blog! =) I am a lavender fan and have used lavender-scented candles every time I have a stressful work session.
I loved the presentation of research in this post and am super impressed that lavender pills can equal the effects of lorazepam. You have probably mentioned this in previous posts, but I imagine that the lavender scent also has relaxation effects or at least I think I’ve heard this before. It would be amazing if it would have the same anti-anxiety power through aroma as well.
Thanks so much for this informative post, Patricia! Looking forward to reading more and keeping in touch. =)
Hi Samantha
Welcome to my small niche lavender blog. especially good that you are a lavender lover too
And yes, I have written about the relaxation effects of lavender in previous posts. In fact I just recently did one on insomnia that you may find interesting.
When you have time check out the other lavender health and lavender product posts and you will read about more of this amazing aromatic herb’s many uses.
Thanks for your input to the topic too. And yes I have even done a post on lavender soy candles. It is one of the most popular posts I have done
It was really a lavenderuses safety post and it seemed to be something a lot of people learnt heaps from, which I was encouraged about.
Hope to see you stopping by again and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Have a great rest of the week Samantha.
Patricia Perth Australia
I suffer from anxiety… I will definitely check this out. Now I am reading all about lavender on wikipedia and other sites… I didn’t realize people used lavender for these things!
Freddy K
Hi Fred
welcome to my lavender blog. thanks for stopping by and staying to comment.
There are quite a few lavender posts here that you can read concerning health and yes, lavender has relaxing properties.
It has been used for thousands of years and now clinical trials are showing that in fact it does work in many instances; as treatment for different condtions.
Patricia Perth Australia
Glad toknow that not just in Austraila but even here in the United Kingdom the Government has pass a bill making the selling of alternative medicines legal lets hope the trials go well and long live the lavender
Hi Lawmacs
Thanks for stopping by. This clinical trial was done in Vienna Austria not in Australia. But we do have natural products that are allowed to be sold here.
As this was only a clinical trial, there is a way to go before approval would be given and more studies to be done. But the good news is the lavender capsules worked and so there is hope that they will continue to look at the results and hopefully if all goes well, that they will eventually be available for people who have this debilitating condition.
The approval of all treatments here in Oz are strict and even with some products that may be approved of elsewhere, doesn’t mean it will be approved of here.
The lavender products I sourced from a local lavender farm are natural, chemical free lavender products and I know there are other lavender farms selling natural products here in this country too.
And it’s always encouraging to learn of yet another use for the lovely lavender too
Patricia Perth Australia
WOW Pat!
This is some really great discovery. I didn’t even realize Lavender could be medically useful. There are becoming more and more natural ways of sustaining good health these days and I am glad to learn about this.
Great job, many people will enjoy better health as a result of these findings.
For those other Lavender uses medically that I have missed out on, what other illness can lavender help combat?
Hi Tito
Yes it is WOW for all that this amazing aromatic herb can be used for.
I have done several posts on lavender health. It is an anti-inflamatory, antifungicidal and of course is used by people who suffer with insomnia.
When you have time, have a read and you will be surprised at the varied properties it displays. If you look at the sidebar on the right under lavender health; there is heaps of information in the posts of some of the lovely lavender’s many uses.
There is even a type of baldness (alopecia areata) where clinical trials were undertaken and the results were not only interesting but good news for people who took part in the trial.
It is encouraging that what has been known for thousands of years……that natural health products work; is now being shown to be effective through many clinical trials being undertaken.
There will be more posts following as I continue to research the many uses of the lovely lavender.
Patricia Perth Australia
Thanks Pat for the update, I will certainly make out time to read up on the health category of lavender uses. However, I would like to know if it can be found in Africa, Nigeria to be precise?
Got any idea?
Hi Tito
There are some interesting uses for the lovely lavender that I have discovered since I started researching and writing about it.
I don’t know how accessible it is to purchase in Nigeria. Sorry I can’t help with that. If you can’t find any you can buy it here online.
Either have a look in my Etsy store (click on product in sidebar) or have a look in the Amazon store ( under lavender product in the top tabs).
Hope all’s going well for you Tito. Really enjoying visiting your site and reading your posts.
Patricia Perth Australia
Hi Patricia,
This is such an informative article! I had no idea that there were clinical trials being run to treat patients with anxiety disorders. That’s amazing. I’m looking forward to hearing more about this in the future. Thanks for writing such a great post!
Hi Sherryl
Thanks for stopping by and joining the conversation. It is encouraging to know that there are these clinical trials happening and the lovely lavender is coming up smelling sweet
I will continue to research and report any other findings that I discover too. There are now quite a few lavender health posts on this blog and each time they are published there are people who they appear to help.
And thanks for your kind words about my post. I do enjoy writing them; especially when they inform my readers. From the comments, I do believe that has been achieved with this post.
Patricia Perth Australia
Hi, Patricia.
I love your blog. I may even become a convert and have lavender as my favorite color instead of green soon. Lavender just smells so good, I swear I can smell it just by being here. LOL. You can just guess how active my imagination gets.
Now, I know lavender to have calming attributes, so I can see why it can cure severe anxiety. I am not prone to anxiety attacks myself (being more of a person prone to depression) but I do have a dear friend who is, so I will definitely tell her about this wonderful cure.
Thanks for sharing this, Patricia. You are a gem.
Hi Kim
Thanks for your kind words about my blog. My favourite colour used to be blue. Since starting my lavender blog I now love all things purple LOL
The clinical trials that have been done and are being done for the many uses of the lovely lavender are many and varied.
I have written quite a few posts on lavender for health issues and will continue to do so as I research and find more clinical trials being undertaken.
It has been used for thousands of years and now that the medical profession is doing these studies, it is most encouraging. They are confirming its attributes and many uses and that is a positive for this amazing aromatic herb.
Patricia Perth Australia
As a big fan of lavender, this is very good to hear. I am glad the medical profession is taking lavender seriously.
When I lived in the UK I used lavender cream all the time because I get heat rash a lot, but now I live in the USA I don’t know what to look for, and the creams Ive tried are not nearly as effective in removing the inflamation. Do you happen to know of a good lavender based cream I can use?
Hi Lesley
Welcome to my lavender blog. Thanks for stopping by and staying to comment.
I have noticed some of the lavender products in the US do use lavandins. I did an article on it if you want to check it out: “Cheap But Not So Cheerful” under the category Lavender Products.
All the products I have sourced are English lavender products from a local lavender farm. No creams, but you could have a look in my Etsy store and see if there is something you would like to try.
Just click on one of the lavender products on the right or if you want to look in my Amazon store, they are under Lavender Products at the top of the page.
Hope that helps. I know there are some great lavender farms in the UK. When I lived and worked there I visited one and of course many sell their own products.
Patricia Perth Australia
Patricia, I am fascinated by the information you provide about lavender. Ive just written some articles about natural skin care and how many of the supposed ‘natural’ products have no proven effect, but lavender stood out, head and shoulders above them all as something which is really effective in many ways.
I’m not sure, after writing those articles, that I am as ‘green’ as I was. Now, I’d really like to be lavender!
Hi Lesley
Just checked out your site. I love writing so will be over to explore more of your posts. Sounds like you are doing well.
You are right. Lavender does come out well. I have a nursing background; so when I began researching the many uses of the lovely lavender, was very encouraged at the number of clinical trials carried out.
There are quite a few posts on this blog about them if you want to read some more. This amazing aromatic herb sure is doing well and I will continue to research and write about it.
Thanks for stopping by Lesley and staying to join the conversation. Appreciated.

This is a pretty interesting post. I don’t know much about lavender; I thought it would be only helpful for beauty products, but it looks like these pills can really help people get rid of anxiety without the side effects. This is a nice medical breakthrough to help sufferers of anxiety.
I learned something new today. Thanks Patricia.
Hi Hulbert
Welcome to my lavender blog. Glad you learnt something on your visit here. I am encouraged by all the clinical trials that have been undertaken with the lovely lavender.
It has been used for thousands of years and now its many uses are being verified by medical researchers. Can only be a positive for natural health. Have written other lavender health posts so if you are interested, have a look around and learn some more.
This truly is an amazing aromatic herb. There are heaps of uses for the lovely lavender and I too am surprised when I discover yet another use for it, when I am researching for my blog.
Just checked out your blog. I really enjoy English literature and love it when the British do historical drama series either on film or television. All the best for your further studies and eventual career too Hulbert.

Hey Patricia,
This research here sounds promising. I think it will be a welcome relief for those who are taking real medical pill for anxiety. It’s also good for those after some form of alternative therapy without ( or less than) the side effects of pharmaceutical drugs.
Hi Angelica
This is a very encouraging report indeed. As more and more clinical trials are conducted on natural products, it affirms their healing properties.
Of course many of these natural products have been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. Now we have the evidence to state not only what properties they have but also how they work.
Thanks for stopping by Angelica. Hope all’s going well for you too.
Patricia Perth Australia
I have not seen this study and look forward to checking it out myself. Lavender continues to surprise me. Thanks!
Hi Amanda
I enjoy doing research on the lovely lavender and this was a nice surprise.
This amazing aromatic herb continues to surprise me too

Hi Patricia,
My Grandmother grew lavender and always had it dried and placed all over the house. She thought that it keep everyone happy! So maybe she was on to something there! Thanks for sharing so much information about lavender.
Hi Ann
Thanks for stopping by and staying to comment. Your Grandmother sounds as though she had impecable taste in flowers
The lovely lavender has been shown to have some amazing uses; with clinical trials now showing that she along with others over the years were onto something, that’s for sure.
I continue to be surprised when I do my research, to find how versatile this amazing aromatic herb is.
Patricia Perth Australia
Hi Patricia
I was reading about a trial similar to this one somewhere else and I was intrigued to know that a capsule may be available one day. What great news that will be. I haven’t read the trial notes and I was wondering though, does the silexan have any smell or taste as I would have thought that you would know that you taking a lavender pill by its very individual smell or taste?
The anecdotal evidence that I have received from many customers of my products is that it definitely works! I’ve tried a few things myself and find that it does work. Takes the pain from bee stings very well. I get stung every time we harvest and if i don’t have a bottle of essential oil handy just rubbing the flowers over the area works a treat.
Love reading your posts (when i get time). Keep up the good work.
Hi Deb
This trial was well written in the medical journals. Cos I have a nursing background and love research, really enjoyed reading it.
Discovering that there may be a natural alternative to the pharmacopia that is used at present is good news indeed.
No mention of the taste! They were probably so excited by the results that however it tasted wasn’t going to deter them.
Thanks for your kind words about my lavender blog. I do enjoy researching and writing about this amazing aromatic herb.
Now that I also have another site over at psoriasis-information.com and am about to set up some affiliate sites; have to limit my time here as I am meant to be building my business
