Relaxing With Lavender

by Patricia · Lavender Health

Does Lavender Help You De-stress

Can relaxing with lavender help?  The Egyptians thought so. They relaxed by adding lavender to their bath water and so can we!  What worked more than 2000 years ago still works today.

Just Add Lavender Oil

The 21st century seems to be so full of stress.

Whether it’s been a busy day at the office, hectic day at home or just a day that didn’t go as you planned.

What better than a bath with a few drops of lavender oil.

Lavender Alleviates Stress and Anxiety

Lavender essential oil is known for its relaxing properties and is used to alleviate not only stress but also anxiety.

It’s really calming properties have been well documented, and I for one can attest to its calming effect after a busy day at the office.

In this present day of frenetic pace and instant everything why not give it a try?

Dried and Fresh Lavender Flowers

If you prefer: rather than lavender essential oil, you can use dried lavender flowers – about half a cup should be plenty.

Those Egyptians I mentioned used fresh lavender flowers and it worked for them.

Relaxing With Lavender

Are you now ready to de-stress?  Then go run a warm bath, add your chosen lavender and lay back and relax.  If dimming the lights and putting on some music is your way of relaxing, then go for it.

Lavender Soy Candles

As lavender is known to relieve stress, lighting some soy lavender candles and enjoying the perfume that emanates, should prove to be relaxing too.

The reason I suggest soy candles is because they are safer to use and more environmentally friendly than paraffin candles.

Effective Lavender Products

All organic lavender products should be pleasing to use and calming too. From lavender sprays that have helped with insomnia, to sleep pillows for a restful night sleep.

These are just some of the lavender products that have helped people I know.

Clinical Trials Confirmed

And the more I have researched the lovely lavender, the more I have learned. Clinical trials are confirming many of the things not only those Egyptians knew long ago; but other lavender uses throughout the centuries have also attested to…relaxing with lavender works.

The object of this non-exercise is to relax. To continue relaxing with this beautiful aromatic herb; make sure you have lavender products that you can continue to use and enjoy; just in case you get stressed or anxious again!

Hi Patricia,

You’re right lavender essential oil is great for relaxation. I still use it in dream pillow recipes, and add lavender essential oil blend into spray bottles. I use that to spray in my daughters room. She’s usually falls asleep very quickly.

It’s also an effective treatment for cuts and burns. I remember reading how aRené-Marice Gattefossé, a chemist, healed himself with lavender oil. Years ago, I read about his story (in one of my aromatherapy books) and the remakrable benefits associated with the oil. I’ve used it on burns too, it’s extremely effective.

The lavender herb is great too, since it can be used as an insect repellent, and it smells lovely.

I love your site.

Hmm that was weird, my comment got eaten. Anyway I desired to say that it’s nice to know that someone else also mentioned this as I experienced trouble finding the exact same info elsewhere. This was the very first place that told me the answer. Many thanks.

Pat, I’m going to have to teach you how to recognize spam, as the one above titled “Affiliate Marketing Secrets” is spam, so it was where it was supposed to be. lol

My wife has taken a bath in lavender and enjoyed it. Me, I don’t take baths, yet one time in a hotel jacuzzi we did add some lavender and another scent to the mix and that was wonderful.

Hey Patricia,
Great tips here – I can testify too that they work. My fiancee has used lavender to help her relax. It’s been great for her in the bath, but also putting a few drops on her pillow helps relax just before going to sleep.

Hi Patricia:

You got a new post here. I told a few friends about your store. Hopefully it might get you one or two sales.

However, I see a new post here, therefore, I read it. It is a great post from the point of view of the sales.

These are the attributes of Lavender to provide stress release, aroma therapy, and make you feel good from inside.

You have a great Sunday.

Hi Fran

Thanks for spreading the word about my store. I wrote this post awhile back but you are right it does bring out some of the attributes of lavender.

I have a guest post over on Rick LaPoint blog. Have you had the time to go over and read it? Had some great responses to my first guest post. In fact been asked by 2 other blog owners to guest post on their blogs now!

Still bit overwhelmed by it all but it’s great to have the lovely lavender getting some more attention.
